Canister Rifle

The heavy weapon of choice for Meira. The long range, precision and high damage make this weapon well suited for taking out light vehicles or crippling heavier tanks and battlesuits. It is also fully capable of taking out infantry at long distance, though this option is a bit of an overkill (and quite messy).

The Canister Rifle is so named because it uses a canister system similar to a revolver rather than a clip. In a standard clip fed magazine part of the thrust is diverted from the chamber into the magazine to force another round into the barrel. The canister however, functions similarly to a revolver with a small amount of mechanical help to assist the firer turn the canister. This function is powered by a small rechargeable battery. Because none of the thrust is diverted, 100% of the weapons potential energy can be delivered. If this wasn't enough, the shells also contain an explosive charge and armor piercing tips. Because of the explosive ammunition, a clip fed system could prove to be fatal and therefore none of these weapon systems will ever be clip fed.
